Apply a plan to products
Choose products by hand or with rules on title, tags, product type and vendor, and keep them in sync as your catalogue changes.
All docs
A plan only appears on products it has been applied to. You choose them in the Eligibility section of the plan, after it has been saved.
Add products by hand
Click + Add products and search for the products you want. This is the simplest option for a short list of big-ticket items.
Add rules
Click + Add rule to match products automatically. A rule compares one product field with a value:
| Field | Operators |
|---|---|
| Title | equals, includes, starts with, ends with |
| Tags | equals, includes, starts with, ends with |
| Product type | equals, includes, starts with, ends with |
| Vendor | equals, includes, starts with, ends with |
Matching ignores upper and lower case. A tag rule matches if any of the product's tags match.
How products and rules combine
- Every rule must match. Two rules, "Tags equals finance" and "Vendor equals Acme", only match Acme products tagged "finance".
- Products you added by hand are always included, whether or not they match the rules.
A tag such as payment-plan is a tidy way to manage a plan: tag a product in Shopify and it picks up the plan.
Publishing and syncing
- Publish goes through your whole catalogue, adds the plan to every matching product and shows progress as it runs.
- Sync runs the same check again after you change the plan or its rules.
- Stop sync halts after the batch in progress.
- Unpublish removes the plan from every product in Shopify. Existing orders are not affected.
- View products lists the products the plan is currently on.
Automatic updates
Once a plan is published, products are checked again when they change:
- A new product is checked straight away.
- An edited product is checked at most once every 5 minutes, so a tag you add or remove takes up to 5 minutes to add or remove the plan.
- A deleted product is removed from the plan.
